Happy Halloween

I have never celebrated Halloween in my life. Never been trick-or-treating, never worn a Halloween costume, and never carved a pumpkin before. In fact I don't even eat pumpkin. The only pumpkin dish that I have tried is pumpkin soup. Well, the soup didn't taste as bad as I thought it would. Either it was cooked with the correct ingredients or very little pumpkin was added to the soup.

Anyway, of recent years, Halloween has been celebrated by many in this country for the fun of having the opportunity to dress up in silly, weird costumes without being labeled as cuckoo or being shipped to the asylum. In fact Japanese "celebrate" Halloween all year round. Those people that dress up in weird outfits parade the streets of Japan on a daily basis. However, they refer to that as cosplay and it has nothing to do with Halloween. Just wanted to point out that there are "special/unique" individuals that want to stand out from the crowd. Either that or the refuse to grow up and live in their fantasy world.

If I have to pick a character to portray for Halloween what would it most likely be? (Ponders....)Being a princess, fairy, devil, bunny, witch, mummy, vixen, vampire, zombie, kitten, clown, super heroes, etc would be too common. Even being an ogre (that is Shrek's kind) would be common. I was really tempted to buy the animal ears headbands when McD's was having that promotion but I didn't. I really can't decide. But I think being Paris Hilton would be quite fun. All I need is a blonde wig and just hi-jack someone's chihuahua. Muahaha. It's rather easy being a blonde.

Happy Halloween.

My Ear Still Hurts

After almost a week, my ear still hurts badly. My throat ulcer got bigger and more painful. Even drinking is a feat. Every time I eat or drink, my eyes will tear from the excruciating pain. The pain from the throat combined with the pain in the ear is simply unbearable. I have been taking antibiotics and panadol but the pain just simply wouldn't go away. It is really torturing. My tongue is starting to hurt a little too.

I told a friend of mine about this and he gave me this reply:

Me: My ear hurts so badly.

Friend: Better go see a doctor. Later your ear fall off.

Me: I am not Michael Jackson!

Friend: Lolz

Anyway jokes aside, this pain is really killing me. I haven't had a proper meal since this pain developed because I can't swallow without tearing. Ouch. When will this pain go away?

My Ear Hurts

For the past two days, my ears and nose were teaming up on me. They itched so badly every night that I have to rub them non stop to get rid of the itch. However, the rubbing does not relief me of the itch. Instead I ended up with sore nose and ear.

Yesterday, my throat started to hurt. And today, guess what? An ulcer appeared on my throat. Now coupled with the throat ulcer, my ear hurts like it's going to fall off. The pain is getting unbearable.

I wonder if this is related to something I had experience when I was small. I was 6 or 7 then. I don't remember exactly what was wrong but I do remember having to have this liquid medication dropped into my ear and stuffing it with cotton. The teachers in my school thought I was deaf and had to clarify it with my sis. I am not deaf!

Right now I don't know what to do. My nose and ear still itch a little. However the bigger issue now is that my ear really hurts and so does my throat. Should I take allergy medication or panadol (the wonder pill)?

Stephen Gately

Stephen Gately
17 March 1976 – 10 October 2009

I was awaken this morning by the message ringtone from my phone. Still being in sleep mode, I reached over to grab my phone and read the message. My groggy eyes read the words : Stephen Gately of Boyzone passed away.

I jolted out of my slumber after reading that message. It is truly shocking and depressing that one by one, the stars whom I know from my teens are leaving the world. I rummaged through my old CDs the other day out of boredom and was just listening to Boyzone's CD 2 nights ago when I couldn't get any sleep. Today, one of the singer in Boyzone is dead. It is truly sad although I was not a big fan of theirs (my sis was).

Stephen will be fondly remembered for his high pitching, squeaky voice.

In case you were wondering who Boyzone is, below is a picture of the famous 90s boyband from Ireland.

From left to right: Keith, Stephen, Ronan, Mikey and Shane.

Claps, I remember their names. Some time ago I tried to recall the names of members of the bands famous in the 90s. I had trouble remembering their names. For instance N'Sync (I only remember Justin Timberlake).

Photos taken from Google. Don't know why they appear so small.

Down With Cold

I have been down with cold for the past two days. I don't know how I got it. All I know is I can't stop sneezing. That was how it started. I sneezed, and sneezed, and sneezed and sneezed. I blew my nose so often that my face began to feel numb. Then my head felt like a balloon (filled with air). Tried to leave it to my body to fight it but somehow that didn't turn out well. That left me without much option but to take medicine. Took a pill and the sneezing seemed to stop but my nose was blocked. With my nose blocked I had difficulty breathing. Not long after, the sneezing resumed and more "wantons" were produced.

So last night, before I retire for the day, I took another pill to stop the runny nose. It worked. However, there is a catch. The side effect was I had a terrible hang over the whole day. I couldn't get up in the morning because I felt so dizzy. I finally managed to drag myself out of bed, but I can't seem to stand still without felling like the ground was made out of cloud. I had to lean on something whole day. Even caffeine failed to break the dizzy spell. Up until now, my head is still spinning. I think I have developed a fever.

Lappy's Condition Worsens

Lappy has a string of health conditions and has been weak a while after it started work. Although Lappy has been "vaccinated", it has not protected Lappy entirely from viral infections. Lappy contracted viral infectious in university when infected drives belonging to friends were plugged into it during information sharing. Although some virus were detected and cleared, there remain hidden ones undetected by the vaccine. Some time into university, the vaccination wore out and Lappy has been on its own ever since. Last year or the year before that, Lappy was diagnosed with cataract.

It is really sad to see Lappy's cataract condition worsen. I turned it on today only to find a total blind streak running vertically across Lappy's "eye". I am really worried that Lappy will be totally blind real soon. Lappy has been with me since university days. We have become so attached that a moment apart is agonizing. When Lappy first had cataract, I consulted "specialists" on "treating" Lappy's cataract. I was told that it was way too costly to treat it and it is best to let Lappy live with this condition and serve it's useful life. Although Lappy's cataract has made it difficult for it to show and for me to see, I still love Lappy to bits.

Apart from the cataract, Lappy has been on life support for some time. Lappy has a weak heart. Lappy's heart failed while I was in university. But Lappy has not stop serving me. Although having to be on life support all the time, Lappy still works like any of his "brothers". I can't lose Lappy for he is my sole helper in the human-techno world. Pleas stay strong and overcome this hardship Lappy.
