Natasha Richardson 1963-2009

Natasha Richardson was born on May 11, 1963 in London, England, UK to Oscar winners Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson. One might remember her best as the mother of Lindsay Lohan in Parent Trap. She also starred in Maid in Manhattan alongside Jennifer Lopez. It is truly shocking and sad to learn that she has passed away so tragically at 45. Natasha was pronounced brain dead on 18 March 2009 and was taken off life support in Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital New York. Natasha fell at the beginners slope during a ski lesson in Quebec, Canada. She was reported doing fine after the fall but things turn bad an hour later when she had a headache.

Natasha leaves behind husband Liam Neeson, sons Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, mother Vanessa Redgrave, sister Joely Richardson and aunt Lynn Redgrave.

Harry Potter

People around the world have all been charmed by little Harry Potter when the first Harry Potter movie was released. Ever wonder what Harry Potter would look like when he is old? Yes, I mean when he is much older. Probably nearing retirement age.

When it all started. Harry and clan.

A much bigger Harry.

Harry when he outgrows his uniform.

Harry and his friends when they have all grown up.

I had such a great laugh when I first saw the photo of Harry Potter in his golden years. Harry whom had outgrown his clothes is simply ingenious. He just looks ridiculous but really funny. Forget what the story is about. It can be pure crap and not matter. The sight of Harry in shrunken clothes is good enough.

Gastric

For the past few days, my tummy has been having the blues. It was nothing severe initially. However, things turn bad yesterday. What seems to be an upset stomach initially transformed and became gastric. Due to this stomach condition, I hardly slept yesterday. That was because my stomach couldn't seem to let me get some shut eye. It was not extreme pain but discomfort. No position seems to help me feel better. Tried lying on my back, sides, propped up pillows and even on my tummy but nothing seems to work. Not having much of a choice, I got out of bed and took a gastric tablet with hopes of stopping the discomfort. However, that did not help much either. So I ended up flipping from side to side throughout the night.

This morning, the pain got worse. I could hardly do anything. Slight movement would give rise to discomfort. While eating a moment ago, I couldn't even eat in peace cause my stomach started to hurt. I have taken gastric pills as well as liquid medication but nothing seems to be able to put it to rest. The Gastric is back.

The Line

Different people have different limits to things that they can tolerate. When being asked questions, there lies a limit between conversational material and private stuff. To what extent is some queries considered invasion of privacy? That totally depends on each person. Some enjoy having everyone know everything about their life whereas others are rather private with their lives. How does one choose when to make known to the questioning party their limit? How does one ward off questions that they do not feel like answering? What constitutes a rude reply? Does replying with a question constitutes rude reply? Does a no reply fall under the rude category?

Sometimes, the interpretation of different individuals gives rise to conflicts and communication breakdown. A very same simple sentence could be interpreted differently by different individuals. Perception also causes different interpretation to take place. If one perceives a person as bad, everything that the person that is perceived bad does will be considered bad. Even if that person is right. One's emotions also contributes to how one interprets something. When one is in a good mood, everything will seem right.

Sometimes a problem might not even be a problem at all. Why complicate things by turning anthills into mountains when it is not even a problem to begin with? Is it worth pushing things to the point of no return? Why not choose a different approach? Threats in any form is of no help in getting answers. If the limit has been reached, why not wait for a better opportunity to re ask the question that has been rephrased? Pushing too hard is going to get you no where.

Humid

I really hate the weather now. It is so warm that I am feeling really agitated. It is so hot yet I am not exactly sweating. It is more like sweat being trapped under the skin. This hot, unbearable weather seems to be heaven for mosquitoes. The mosquitoes seems to breeding like nobody's business. I suppose mosquitoes get horny in hot weather. This weather has turned me into mosquito feed. If I could charge mosquitoes for every sip that they take, I will be really rich in no time. Why does the pest swatter have to seize working at this time.

Curvy Christmas 2008

Wow! Can't belief it is March already. Time really flies. Anyway this is a backdated post of Christmas. It took so long to be updated partly due to laziness and also because well, if everything was posted back in December, there won't be much to be posted for the following months.

The outdoor decoration.

Not too sure what the theme was but the concourse area was decorated with pixies and animals.

Short neck giraffe with long legs.

Happy bear.

Nuts over Knut

I saw Knut in the newspaper today and this cute little fluffy creature has caught my heart. Poor Knut was rejected by its mother. Knut is a really adorable polar bear cub.

Front view of Knut.

Knut covering its eyes with its paws.

Knut waving again.

Knut touching its nose.

Knut in the snow.

Knut touching its face. Hope its not having a headache.

I am loving him more by the minute. Wish I could keep him. I want a polar bear cub.

Sore Throat

My throat has been very sore for over a week now. There is a gigantic ulcer on my throat. The entire area is inflamed. It hurts so badly whenever I swallow food. It even hurts when drinking. I tried taking several types of drinks to soothe the pain. I drank lime juice, pitted lime juice, coconut, herbal tea, and chrysanthemum tea.

When all that didn't work, I resorted to consuming fruits. Yesterday, I bought jambu with sour plum salt from a fruit seller which cost $2 a packet. I felt really cheated for the packets consisted of bits and pieces of the fruits that were cut into various shapes and sizes. It seems that the seller has cut off the spoilt parts of the fruits and sell the unspoilt parts.

I took a bite of the sliced fruit laced with sour plum salt and my throat felt like it has been torched. It hurt so badly. Apparently the salt squirted onto the throat ulcer thus causing the sting. The pain was sensational. Even after consuming the fruits, my throat does not feel better.

Gay

I came across something peculiar today. We were driving past our neighbour's house on our way back from dinner and spotted the neighbour's dog with its head hanging out between the gate bars. Nothing extraordinary since he likes to squeeze his oversized head between the gate bars.

Today however, he was doing something I have never seen before (for dogs). He was rubbing his head against another male dog which was seating outside his gate. The gesture was rather intimate akin to necking. Rather strange for two male dogs to be intimate. The even weirder thing is that this neighbour's dog dislikes female dogs. Whenever female dogs come close to his territory, he will bark non stop. I never knew of the existence of gay dogs until I witness this today. The gay culture has spread to man's best friend. Gosh, if the male dogs start humping each other will that be considered sodomy?

My Valentine- Martina McBride

A nice song with a title for that special day. Happy Valentine's Day.
