Who Do You Want To Dress Up As For Halloween?

It's time to play dress up again. Woots!!! For the pretty ones, it really doesn't matter what they intend to dress up as. At the end of the day, they are still pretty and beautiful to look at regardless of what they wear. The hideous ones on the other hand, well, basically they save up a lot on costumes. They don't have to spend a single cent on Halloween costumes. All they need to do is just be themselves for Halloween. Muahaha. Anyway, it's more like Halloween all year round for them.

Just the other day, I saw a photo of a kid. I felt so sorry for this kid. It is seriously not his fault that he resembles Frankenstein (blame it on his parents. To be exact the mother cause she resembles Frankenstein). I think many people feel the same way for him. Cause most of them have to tell little white lies by giving comments of praise on the photo his mother proudly posted. I'm not being mean or anything but that photo of him was seriously weird. His forehead was sky high and he had duck like lips. His hair was like a few pitiful strands sprouting from his scalp. Just visualise Frankenstein. It's karma that the kid ended up the way he looks. It's really pitiful that he has to pay for his parent's misdeeds.

Okay enough of the poor kid. Anyway, if you happen to have someone whom annoys the shit out of you, this is the time for vengeance. Just tell that person you'd dress up as him/her for Halloween this year. Nuff said.

Happy Halloween.

Jaws

During my schooling days, my teeth were the envy of all my friends as they were perfectly straight. I never had braces and yet my teeth were in perfect semicircles. I could bite into jelly like a mold without leaving any uneven marks on the jelly. For those who do not know me thought that the straightness was because of braces. But it is all natural. Gift from God.

Things stated changing as I left high school and subsequently furthered my studies. My wisdom tooth started growing. The wisdom tooth on one side grew and started to push my teeth out of alignment. They are a bit crooked but still looks quite straight from far. The depressing thing now is the other wisdom tooth began to emerge lately. I am rather worried now as this tooth might push my teeth totally out of alignment and I might require braces to rectify the problem. My jaws are not big enough to accommodate all the teeth.

The headache now is to find a dentist with caliber to restore my crowning glory to it's glory days without breaking my jaw. The last time I had my tooth removed, the dentist almost dislocate my jaw. He tried removing my tooth before my gums became totally numb from the injection. After my tooth was removed, my gums couldn't stop bleeding. It was like a river of blood and I have to have my face in the sink every few minutes as my mouth became a reservoir of blood. Subsequently I had to go back to him to stop the bleeding. The dentist placed a pill into the wound and that hurt like hell. I have been traumatized since that incident. In a dilemma now. Sigh. Life.

10.10.10

Ah....let's see. What can be said of this digits. 10.10.10. As a gimmick, it was said that this day signifies perfection. According to the chinese saying, the number 10 symbolises perfection (in cantonese "Sap chuen sap mei", or in mandarin "szer quen szer may"). So upon hearing this, baffoons rush to register their marriage on this day in hopes that their marriage will be perfect. I hate to break this to them, but whether or nor your marriage is going to be perfect is dependant on the person that you choose to be with for the rest of your life and not a day per se.

These people also chose to register their marriage on this day because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity that the the numbers for the dd/mm/yy will be the same. The same was said for 08.08.08 and 09.09.09. Anyway, if you want to have the same number for the day-month-year on your marriage certificate, you can still do so for 11.11.11 and 12.12.12. If you don't register your marriage by then, you are doomed. You will be alone for the rest of your life. HAHAHAHA. I wonder why nobody said anything about 01.01.01, 02.02.02, 03.03.03, 04.04.04, 05.05.05, 06.06.06, and 07.07.07.

There was a great buzz on weddings for this date but nothing was mentioned for births and deaths. The gimmick for births could be delivering on the 10 October 2010 at 10.10 a.m/p.m.. It could have been said that babies born on this particular day would be perfect. Although we all know that a perfect baby would be dependant on the parents genes. Lousy genes will lead to lousy babies regardless of them being born on a perfect day. Hence there is no need to get feng shui consultation for the right timing of birth. Why weren't there any advertisement on the perfect death? The gimmick would be dying on the 10.10.10 would imply that you have lived a fulfilling life or born imperfect but died perfect. Point to ponder.

What Did You Call Me?!!!

When I came out from the bathroom this afternoon, I heard a beep from my phone. Upon checking my phone, I noted that I have a missed call. However, the call was from an unknown number. I thought to myself, "Well, if it's urgent the person will call back". Hence, I continued doing my stuff, that is getting dressed. A few minutes later, my phone rang again. This time my hands were covered in soap and it seem difficult in washing it off. Then the ringing stopped. I dried my hands and walked back into my room. Before I could have a look at my phone, it rang again. This time I managed to answer the call.

Me: Hello.

Unidentified caller: Mummy....

Me: (Thinking to myself, when did I become a mum?) Who are you looking for?

Unidentified caller: Oh, sorry. (in slow motion) [as though I was pulling his leg]

Caller hangs up.

Excuse me!! When did I get promoted to Mum status? What's wrong with this person? He doesn't even know his own mother's handphone number. It is fine that you can't remember you friends' number, but your family members' number?...Especially your parents!! Sheesh! Can't even tell the difference in my voice. Rather give birth to roasted pork than you (literally translated from the cantonese proverb 'Sanng kao char siew hou kor sanng lei').

How Mid Autumn Festival Came Into Being

In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival a.k.a. the Moon cake festival, I would like to share some folklore on Mid Autumn festival. Personlly, I didn't even know of the first three folklore and only found out about them while watching a television programme yesterday. Not too sure if I got it right as the programme was in Mandarin. My Mandarin proficiency is that of a Primary school kid or perhaps kindy level as I am English educated and have never had any official lessons on Mandarin. So don't penalise me if the folklore aren't accurate.

Folklore 1

A long, long time ago, there were 10 suns shining down on earth. The heat emitted by the sun was unbearable, resulting in drought and withering crops. Then a warrior named Ho Yi shot nine arrows into the sky and extinguished 9 of the 10 suns. The Earth was then left with one sun shining down on it. A goddess descended from the Heavens and awarded Ho Yi with an elixir of immortality. Ho Yi the warrior then gave the elixir to his wife Chang Er. One day, when Ho Yi was away from home, a man with bad intentions went to his house. This man called Peng Meng tried to steal the elixir from Chang Er as he wanted to be immortal. The warrior’s wife, Chang Er knowing that she couldn’t fight off Peng Meng, swallowed the elixir. She then floated and ascended to the sky and landed on the moon. She has been living on the moon ever since. Hence on the fifteenth of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, people will pay tribute to the lady in the moon with hope of getting a blessing from above.

Folklore 2

Once upon a time, three Gods descended from the Heaven and disguised themselves as 3 pitiful old men. They met three animals on Earth namely a Monkey, a Fox and a Rabbit. The three men then asked for some food from the three animals. Both the Monkey and the Fox offered the three men the food that they have. The Rabbit, not having anything to give to the three men offered itself and leapt into the fire. Touched by the Rabbits sacrifice, the three men transformed the Rabbit into the Jade Rabbit when the rabbit ascended to heaven. The Jade Rabbit resides on the Moon and makes elixir. On the fifteenth of the eighth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, the “shadow/image” of the Jade Rabbit pounding Elixir could be spotted on the Moon.

Folklore 3

Legend has it that there is a wood cutter that chops trees in the Moon. His name is Wu Gang. He was demoted from his warrior position because of a mistake he made. As punishment, he was made a wood cutter at the Moon Palace. Wu Gang could never finish chopping the tree because every time the tree is chopped it would restore itself magically. Hence this is an eternal punishment to Wu Gang as he has to chop the laurel tree that will never fall. It is claimed that on the fifteenth of the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, the “image/shadow” of a wood cutter could be seen on the full moon.

Folklore 4 (This I have eard of)

Once upon a time, a war erupted. The army contingents have to be very cautious of their speech as there were spies among them. The battle plans were highly confidential. Hence it could not be communicated to their comrades in letters for fear of the plans being leaked to the enemy. They then came up with a plan. The battle plans were communicated in strips of paper placed in moon cakes that are sent to their comrades in other army contingents. That is how the moon cake came into being.

"Coaster" Highway

Just the other day, when I logged into Facebook, I saw a post that made me laugh my head off. It was posted by someone who claims she is genius in everything and the rest of the world are retards. She posted " Stuck in stupid jam at COASTER HIGHWAY". What the hell.

I suppose having a baby made her lose half of her brains. Or perhaps she didn't have much to begin with. She couldn't tell the difference between COASTER and COASTAL. Coaster Highway. HAHAHAHA. No wonder she's stuck in it.

Anyway, I do not usually penalise people for spelling mistakes but because she is an anal bitch that attacked me for no apparent reason, it is only just that a post is written on her pathetic mistake.

Stupidest Dream Ever

Last night, I had the stupidest dream ever. In the dream my mother was shrieking while spraying insecticide at the lizard (just as what she always does in real life). She was calling out to me to hit the lizard with a broom. Being the ever filial me, I obliged, took a broom and went to her rescue. I lifted the broom and hit the lizard. It fell to the ground and bit me in the foot. The bite was so painful and surreal. My foot actually felt painful when the lizard bit it.

The strange thing is I actually remember the dream albeit it is a stupid one. What does that dream mean anyway? Is it a bad omen? Besides, lizards don't bite. Or do they? I don't think lizards have teeth. Or does someone with features of a lizard is out to get me? Perhaps someone whose name has the word l-i-z-a-r-d in it out to get me.

I Dreamed A Dream

Glee has again sung a song that depicts my feeling.

I Dreamed A Dream (Glee cast version)

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung no wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
(But the tigers come at night)
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
(As they tear your hope apart)
And they turn your dream to shame

And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

As usual, clip taken from youtube and lyrics googled.
