Winter Solstice 2010

The making of glutinous rice balls for Winter Solstice 22 December 2010.


Step 1: Glutinous rice flour is mixed into dough.
Step 2: Colour is added to dough (can be natural colouring or food colour).
Step 3: Roll dough into small balls. Leave to dry before cooking.
Step 4: Cook glutinous rice balls before adding syrup.
Step 5: Cook syrup. Boil ginger in water then add sugar according to preference.


Pink (food colouring)




White




Green (natural coloring using pandan leaves)




Amber (natural colouring using sweet potato)




Cooked glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup.

Given by neighbor (the colour is nicer because food colouring is used)
